Bromley Art Society Bringing Artists Together since 1947

Kent Adult Education is a non profit organisation that provides courses for individuals and bespoke courses for businesses in areas such as creative skills, health, sport, leisure and self development. This academic year, we are offering a number of very exciting Art courses which I believe will be of great interest to your members. In particular, we are offering a series of classes called "Paint with the Masters". The idea is to spend a day oil painting (or acrylic) in the style of a particular artist who is, or has recently been the subject of a special exhibition in a major public gallery.

Our next class is dedicated to Edgar Degas (more details below). The Edgar Degas day is linked to the exhibition ‘Degas dancers: eye and camera’ at the Royal Academy 17 Sep – 11 Dec 2011. The day will provide an opportunity for students to experience painting skills and techniques, as well as to acquire some understanding of the work of the featured artist. Our tutor is qualified and experienced and a practising artist. A costumed life model will re-create some of the poses used by Degas. It is not necessary to have visited the exhibition before taking the course. Beginners and experienced artists are welcome.

Paint with the Masters
Edouard Degas

Spend a day oil painting (or acrylic) in the style of Edouard Degas. The 
tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including instruction, 
demonstration, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques.
A costumed life model will re-create some of the poses used by Degas.
